Top Wedding Planners in Boston – What Actually Matters When Choosing One

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

If youโ€™ve started researching wedding planners in Boston, youโ€™ve likely come across the same language over and over againโ€”top planners, best-of lists, award-winning teams.

On the surface, it all sounds reassuring.

But not all recognition in the wedding industry carries the same weight, and itโ€™s worth understanding what youโ€™re actually looking at before letting it guide your decision. And before we dive in, a quick personal note: when I started this business, one of my top goals was to be acknowledged by a popular wedding publication by earning their “best of” award. When I did finally get it, I teared up: not because the award was life-changing, but because it was powerful to have my little company’s existence acknowledged by a national publication. So, this isn’t to belittle anyone who has felt similarly: awards can be meaningful, but for a consumer, they really shouldn’t carry much weight.

A More Honest Look at Wedding Planners in Boston (and Industry Awards)

Within the world of wedding planners in Boston, visibility and recognition can come from many places… and not all of them are rooted in meaningful evaluation.

Some lists are thoughtfully curated. Others are influenced by:

  • paid placements or advertising relationships
  • minimal or unclear selection criteria
  • popularity rather than depth of experience

This doesnโ€™t make every feature irrelevant. It simply means they should be taken as one data point, and not the deciding factor. A badge on a website wonโ€™t tell you how a planner works, how they think, or how your wedding will ultimately feel.

What to Look for When Comparing Wedding Planners in Boston

When you move past the surface-level accolades, the differences between wedding planners in Boston become much clearer.

These are the factors that tend to matter most.

A Point of View – Not Just a Portfolio

Many wedding planners in Boston can produce a beautiful event, but fewer have a distinct perspective. A lot of planners produce editorial photo shoots, chasing the trends instead of showcasing their client work. If a planner’s portfolio is heavy on current trends and doesn’t tell you much about the couples in the images, there’s a chance the work they’re showcasing isn’t a real wedding. This means the tablescape your looking at in those images likely were created without the constraints of a budget, or a required level of creativity to tell a story, or the pressure to complete in the limited set up time we all face at real events.

Look beyond whether something is โ€œprettyโ€ and consider:

  • Does their work feel varied, or repetitive?
  • Can they adapt to different aesthetics without losing cohesion?
  • Do their weddings feel personalโ€”or interchangeable?

As you scroll through a vendor’s instagram feed of their work, can you tell the difference between the weddings, or do all the images kind of blur together? Do you want your wedding to blend into their feed, or do you want something that’s going to stand out? A great planner’s goal is not just execution -Itโ€™s interpretation.

The Ability to Balance Design and Execution

Strong design is only one part of the equation.

The most effective wedding planners in Boston are able to:

  • Develop a clear, layered concept
  • Build and manage the right vendor team
  • Navigate logistics without compromising the design

This balance is what allows a wedding to feel both elevated and effortless.

Alignment in Approach

Every planner approaches weddings differently: Some prioritize tradition, some prioritize aesthetics, and some prioritize guest experience above all else. When evaluating wedding planners in Boston, itโ€™s worth asking:

  • Do they encourage originality?
  • Do they refine your ideas, or simply execute them?
  • Are they offering new ideas that feel worthy of your consideration?
  • Do they create space for something unexpected, while still maintaining structure?

The right fit is often less about style, and more about alignment.

Proven Experience at the Right Scale

Not every planner is suited to every type of event.

If your plans involve multiple environments, installations, or a more immersive guest experience, youโ€™ll want to look closely at what a planner has actually executed, not just what they suggest.

Among wedding planners in Boston, experience can vary widely when it comes to complexity, scale, and level of detail.

Where Recognition Fits In

Recognition can be useful when it comes from platforms that are closely connected to venues, creative partners, and real client experiences. We were recently named one of the top wedding planners in Boston by Peerspace, a platform that highlights event professionals based on creativity, consistency, and overall experience. You can read the full feature here: https://www.peerspace.com/resources/wedding-planners-in-boston

For us, that recognition is less about the title and more about what it reflects:

A consistent focus on creating weddings that feel personal, intentional, and a little unexpected.

The Takeaway

There is no shortage of talented wedding planners in Boston. The challenge isnโ€™t finding someone qualified, itโ€™s finding someone whose work, perspective, and approach align with what you actually want your wedding to feel like.

Awards can be a starting point, but they shouldnโ€™t be the conclusion.

How Wedding Planners Choose Vendors (And Why Most Cold Emails Get Ignored)

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

A behind-the-scenes look at how wedding planners vet vendors, build trusted networks, and protect couples from risky recommendations.

A few weeks ago, I received an email from the general manager of a local restaurant.

He introduced himself, explained that their team had recently begun hosting private events, and said heโ€™d love to connect with wedding planners in the area. At the end of the message, he added a thoughtful offer: if I ever wanted to experience the space and menu, heโ€™d be happy to host me for dinner so I could see what they do firsthand.

It was a kind gesture, and honestly, one of the better outreach emails Iโ€™ve received.

Because wedding planners get a lot of these messages.

Every week, our inboxes fill up with introductions from photographers, DJs, caterers, florists, venues, and rental companies hoping weโ€™ll recommend them to our clients.

Sometimes the emails are thoughtful and personalized.

But often theyโ€™re quick introductions that say something like: Hi! I’m a wedding photographer in the area and I’d love to connect so you can recommend me to your couples.

And while the intention behind these emails is completely understandable, they reveal a common misunderstanding about how vendor recommendations actually work.

Because most experienced planners canโ€™t recommend a vendor based on an email alone.

Not because we arenโ€™t interested in meeting new professionals.

But because our job isnโ€™t to market vendors โ€” itโ€™s to protect our clients.

A wedding plannerโ€™s recommendation isnโ€™t marketing โ€” itโ€™s a professional endorsement. And endorsements are built on experience, not introductions.

Wedding Planners Are the Quality Filter in an Unregulated Industry

Unlike many other professions, the wedding industry has very few formal guardrails.

There is:

  • no licensing standard for most vendors
  • no centralized vetting process
  • no consistent quality controls
  • and no opportunity for a redo if something goes wrong

If a vendor underperforms at a wedding, the couple doesnโ€™t get to rewind the day and try again.

Thatโ€™s where planners come in.

Experienced planners operate as a human quality filter in an industry that otherwise doesnโ€™t have one. Our role is to help couples navigate hundreds of vendor options and identify the professionals who are reliable, collaborative, and capable of delivering what they promise.

When we recommend someone, weโ€™re not just passing along a name. Weโ€™re putting our professional reputation behind that recommendation.

If a vendor disappoints a client, the client doesn’t only say: that wedding vendor was a bad decision

They also ask: why did my wedding planner recommend them?

If a planner recommends a vendor theyโ€™ve never worked with, theyโ€™re essentially asking a couple to take a risk on their behalf. Thatโ€™s not something responsible planners take lightly.

Why Cold Emails Donโ€™t Lead to Recommendations

For vendors trying to build relationships with planners, cold emails can feel like a logical first step.

But the challenge is simple:

A portfolio doesnโ€™t show how someone works on a wedding day.

Beautiful photos or polished marketing materials donโ€™t reveal things like:

  • how a vendor communicates with clients
  • how they collaborate with other vendors
  • how they handle stress when timelines shift
  • how they problem-solve when something goes wrong
  • whether theyโ€™re calm, professional, and reliable under pressure

Those are the qualities planners pay the most attention to.

And theyโ€™re qualities we usually only learn by working alongside someone in real life.

A cold email introduces us to your brand โ€” but it doesnโ€™t give us the experience we need to confidently recommend you to a couple.

How Wedding Planners Actually Choose Vendors

When experienced planners build their vendor networks, the process usually happens organically over time.

We meet vendors in a few common ways:

  • collaborating on weddings together
  • being hired by couples who already booked a vendor
  • working at the same venues
  • networking at industry events
  • referrals from other trusted vendors

These shared experiences allow us to observe something that couples rarely get to see: how vendors behave behind the scenes.

We see who:

  • shows up prepared
  • communicates clearly
  • supports the rest of the vendor team
  • reacts to stressful/unexpected scenarios
  • treats clients, guests, and fellow vendors with care and respect
  • delivers what they promised

Those experiences are what build the trust that leads to recommendations.

How Wedding Planners Vet Vendors (What We Actually Look For)

Infographic showing how wedding planners choose and vet vendors, highlighting six factors planners evaluate before recommending vendors: reliability, communication, collaboration, problem solving, client experience, and consistency.

Couples often assume planners recommend vendors based on portfolios or popularity. While beautiful work is important, experienced planners evaluate much more than aesthetics before suggesting someone to a client.

Reliability

This is the most important factor. Weddings run on tight timelines, and every vendor plays a role in keeping the day moving smoothly. We look for professionals who:

  • arrive prepared and on time
  • meet deadlines consistently
  • deliver exactly what was promised

A vendor who is talented but unreliable simply isnโ€™t someone we can confidently recommend.

Communication

Strong communication makes the entire planning process smoother for everyone involved.

We notice vendors who:

  • respond promptly to emails
  • communicate clearly with clients
  • keep the planner informed about logistics and timelines

When communication breaks down, problems tend to follow.

Collaboration With Other Vendors

A wedding is a team effort.

We pay close attention to how vendors interact with one another on event days. The best professionals are collaborative, respectful, and focused on the shared goal of creating a great experience for the couple.

Problem-Solving Ability

No matter how carefully a wedding is planned, unexpected things occasionally happen.

Weather changes. Timelines shift. Equipment fails.

What matters most is how vendors respond in those moments.

Experienced planners value vendors who stay calm, adapt quickly, and find solutions without creating additional stress for the couple.

Client Experience

Technical skill is important, but weddings are also emotional events.

We notice professionals who:

  • treat clients with patience and kindness
  • help couples feel confident and supported
  • communicate clearly about expectations

Great client care is often the difference between a good wedding vendor and a truly exceptional one.

Consistency

One beautiful event doesnโ€™t necessarily mean a vendor consistently delivers great work.

Over time, planners build trust with vendors who perform well across many events โ€” not just one standout project.

Couples often assume planners recommend vendors based on portfolios or popularity. While beautiful work is important, experienced planners evaluate much more than aesthetics before suggesting someone to a client.

Here are some of the factors we pay close attention to when deciding whether a vendor belongs in our trusted network.

Vendor Recommendations Arenโ€™t One-Size-Fits-All

Another misconception about planners is that we have a single โ€œpreferred vendor listโ€ that we recommend to every couple.

In reality, our networks are constantly evolving.

And even within our favorite vendors, we choose recommendations based on fit.

Some floral designers in our network are incredibly talented with modern, sculptural arrangements โ€” perfect for a contemporary museum wedding.

But that same designer might not be the right match for a couple planning a relaxed farm-to-table celebration with garden-style florals.

In that case, weโ€™ll recommend a different florist whose aesthetic aligns better with the coupleโ€™s vision.

The goal isnโ€™t to recommend our favorite vendor.

The goal is to recommend the right vendor for that couple.

Why Some Vendor Recommendations Can Be Risky

Because the wedding industry is so decentralized, the quality of vendor recommendations can vary widely depending on who is making them.

Some planners โ€” particularly those operating at very low price points โ€” rely heavily on online groups to source vendors quickly when planning a wedding.

Youโ€™ll sometimes see posts like: looking for a photographer for a wedding next month – budget is $X and the location is Y please send details if available.

Within minutes, dozens of vendors reply, and I’ll tell you first hand: it’s often a race to the bottom. Without knowing more about the couple, their editing preference, comfort level in front of the camera, priority for which images they want captured, etc. how could it not be?

Online vendor groups can be useful for networking, but recommendations that come from a quick post are very different from recommendations built through real working experience.

For couples, that difference matters. They’re not paying a planner because of their ability to make a Facebook post: they’re paying a planner for their ability to gleam from the client what the clients’ needs and wants are, and to leverage their network of vendors to make the right match.

A thoughtful recommendation should come from someone who has seen the vendor perform their role at an actual event, not from someone who just discovered them in a comment thread.

How Vendors Can Actually Get on a Plannerโ€™s Radar

If youโ€™re a vendor reading this, you might be wondering:

If cold emails donโ€™t lead to recommendations, how do planners discover new vendors?

The truth is, most planner/vendor relationships develop through shared experiences, not marketing outreach.

Working Together on a Wedding

Sometimes couples hire a vendor before bringing on a planner. When that happens, the planner and vendor collaborate on the same event. If the experience goes well, that vendor often becomes someone the planner feels comfortable recommending in the future.

Many of the strongest vendor relationships in the industry start this way.

Industry Events and Networking

Open houses, networking events, and industry gatherings are great opportunities for vendors and planners to meet naturally.

These environments allow planners to get a sense of someoneโ€™s professionalism without the pressure of a sales pitch.

Venue Tours or Tastings

For venues and caterers especially, inviting planners to experience the space or menu firsthand can be helpful.

Seeing how a venue operates or tasting the food a caterer serves provides insight that photos and brochures simply canโ€™t.

Referrals From Trusted Vendors

If a photographer, venue, or floral team we trust says: you should meet this person, they’re fantastic to work with – weโ€™re far more likely to take notice.

Great professionals tend to attract other great professionals.

Offering Ways to Connect

The most effective outreach offers ways to connect, rather than asking immediately for referrals. There is no one-size-fits-all: the examples below won’t always work for all vendors at all times. For me personally, I’m happy to meet in person during slower months, but if you ask to connect in the height of the busy season, it’s going to be very difficult for me to accommodate anything beyond a quick, virtual exchange.

Examples include:

  • grabbing coffee
  • scheduling a short introductory call
  • inviting planners to a venue tour or open house
  • connecting at an industry event

These interactions allow planners to get to know you as a professional – not just as a portfolio. Trust is built through interaction.

The Bottom Line

Wedding planners arenโ€™t referral engines. Please stop treating us like your unpaid marketing intern.

Weโ€™re the quality control step in an industry that otherwise doesnโ€™t have one. Consider us the verified review section.

When we recommend a wedding pro, it isnโ€™t because they emailed us or asked to be on a preferred list. Itโ€™s because weโ€™ve seen how they work โ€” how they collaborate with other vendors, communicate with clients, and solve problems under pressure.

And when couples hire a planner, thatโ€™s exactly what theyโ€™re investing in: a carefully built network of professionals who have proven themselves through real experience.

Because in a world where anyone can create a website and call themselves a wedding vendor, experience is the closest thing this industry has to a vetting system.

Long Sleeve Wedding Dresses: A Timeless Choice

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

Think long sleeve wedding dresses are just for conservative ceremonies or chilly weather? Think again. Todayโ€™s designers have completely reimagined the style, making it a timeless choice for any season and every bride, from the minimalist to the romantic.

This new wave of modern bridal gowns offers more variety than ever before. From breezy, sheer fabrics perfect for summer to sleek, structured crepe, you can discover a look that feels beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly like you.

The term “long sleeve” is just the beginning. Designers use different types of bridal gown sleeves to create entirely different moods, from timeless romance to modern drama. Understanding a few key styles will give you the language to describe your perfect look.

For a look of pure romance, the illusion sleeve is a breathtaking choice. These are made from a sheer, skin-toned netting that disappears against the arm, making intricate lace or beadwork appear to float directly on your skin. This “second-skin” effect is both delicate and enchanting, making it one of the most popular styles today.

If youโ€™re drawn to softer, more free-spirited looks, you’ll love the bishop sleeve. This style is full and billowy through the arm before gathering into a fitted cuff at the wrist, creating a dreamy, ethereal silhouette. For a bolder statement, the bell sleeve flares out from the elbow or forearm, delivering a dramatic, 70s-inspired vibe perfect for a boho bride.

Of course, the shape of the sleeve is only half the story. The fabric itโ€™s made fromโ€”be it structured crepe, delicate lace, or airy tulleโ€”plays an equally important role in defining the final look.

How Fabric Choice Defines Your Long Sleeve Gown

The material of your sleeves sets the entire tone for your wedding day look. For a quintessentially bridal and romantic feel, lace is the classic choice. Its delicate patterns add texture, depth, and a timeless elegance that feels both traditional and enchanting. Whether itโ€™s bold floral motifs or subtle, vine-like embroidery, lace transforms a sleeve into a piece of art.

Ad:

If your style leans more contemporary, consider the clean lines of crepe or the soft luster of satin. These heavier, opaque fabrics create a smooth, sculptural silhouette that feels incredibly chic and modern. Instead of intricate patterns, the beauty lies in the flawless drape of the fabric itself, making a powerful and sophisticated statement.

Finally, think about your wedding date, as fabric choice is key to comfort. The heavier weights of satin or structured crepe are perfect for creating cozy and elegant winter bridal gowns with sleeves. For a summer celebration, a sheer illusion or chiffon sleeve offers that beautiful long-sleeve look without adding heat.

Styling Your Long Sleeve Gown

To create a flattering silhouette, focus on balance. A full skirt, for example, is beautifully complemented by fitted sleeves. If you choose dramatic bishop or bell sleeves, consider a simpler skirt to let the sleeves be the focal point.

This principle extends to accessories. Let detailed illusion sleeves or an intricate neckline shine by pairing them with subtle jewelry. Sleeves are a powerful design tool for every bride, and many designers offer gorgeous plus-size wedding dresses with sleeves. Keeping balance in mind will help you build a look that you absolutely love.

Letโ€™s Talk Vintage Wedding Cakes: The Sweetest Trend of the Year

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

Thereโ€™s a new star of the wedding dessert table, and spoiler alert: sheโ€™s not new at all. Vintage wedding cakesโ€”with their charming piping, nostalgic palettes, and unapologetically decadent detailsโ€”are officially back. And not in a kitschy, throwback kind of way. Todayโ€™s versions feel intentional, design-forward, and surprisingly fresh for something inspired by the past.

As a planner who sees trends come and go (sometimes faster than a sparkler exit), Iโ€™ve learned that certain styles return for a reason. And this one? Itโ€™s sweet for more than just its buttercream.

Letโ€™s dive into what makes vintage wedding cakes the trend of the year, why couples canโ€™t seem to get enough of them, and whether this nostalgic wave has staying power.

What Exactly Is a Vintage Wedding Cake?

While the phrase โ€œvintage wedding cakesโ€ might send you straight to a mental image of a great-auntโ€™s 1950s tiered confection, the modern take is much more curated.

At its core, the vintage wedding cake is about detail, artistry, and romance. Itโ€™s the antithesis of the minimalist, barely-there designs that dominated the 2010s. Instead, this trend embraces the decorativeโ€”and proudly so.

Key Characteristics You’ll See:

  • Lambeth-style piping: Swags, shells, rosettes, ruffles, scallops, and frills galore. Think ornate but not overwhelming.
  • Soft, nostalgic color palettes: Pastels, dusty rose, buttery cream, pale blue, mauve, and even the faintest hint of mint.
  • Textural details: Pearls, lace-inspired piping, delicate borders, and cameo-style motifs.
  • Classic tiered silhouettes: Sometimes symmetrical and traditional, other times intentionally whimsical.
  • Buttercream artistry: Vintage cakes heavily favor buttercream over fondant, which adds to the warmth and softness of the look.

Modern versions often weave in subtle contemporary elementsโ€”like hand-painted details or edible pearlsโ€”to keep the look luxe rather than costume-y.

And for many couples, the charm isnโ€™t just aesthetic. These cakes evoke emotion. They feel like home, history, and celebration all at once.

Why Vintage Wedding Cakes Are Suddenly Everywhere

Youโ€™ve likely noticed it: Instagram feeds filled with piped scallops, TikToks of bakers decorating pastel tiers with impossibly steady hands, and wedding editorials embracing retro-romance. But why now?

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s fueling the obsession with vintage wedding cakes:

1. Nostalgia Is Having a Moment

In a world that moves quickly, couples are craving things that feel rooted and meaningful. Vintage wedding cakes connect us to family traditions, cherished memories, and celebrations that came long before the Pinterest era. They feelโ€ฆ human.

Thereโ€™s something comforting about a cake that looks like it took time, care, and craftsmanshipโ€”because it did.

2. A Reaction to Minimalism

After years of naked cakes and ultra-minimal designs, couples are ready for something more expressive. Vintage piping offers personality, texture, artistry, and a sense of abundance. You donโ€™t just look at these cakes. They invite you closer.

From a plannerโ€™s perspective, this shift also mirrors what weโ€™re seeing across wedding design: couples embracing color again, layering details, and personalizing every touchpoint.

3. They Photograph Beautifully (Hello, Pinterest!)

The ornate piping, dimensional details, and romantic colors make vintage wedding cakes irresistible for social media. They photograph like a dream from every angle, which is especially appealing to couples who want their day to feel editorial.

Luxury clients in particular love when a detail delivers both beauty and visual impactโ€”vintage cakes do both.

4. A Focus on Craftsmanship

The luxury wedding space has seen a strong return to artisan work: hand-dyed linens, custom calligraphy, live painting, and now, intricate cake design. These cakes celebrate slow, skilled craftsmanship, and couples investing six figures or more into their day are often drawn to that level of intentionality.

As a planner, I love when a cake becomes more than dessertโ€”it becomes a piece of art.

How Long Will the Vintage Wedding Cake Trend Last?

Ah, the question every trend report wants to predict.

While nothing in weddings stays โ€œpeak trendyโ€ forever, vintage wedding cakes arenโ€™t showing signs of fading anytime soon.

Hereโ€™s my plannerโ€™s forecast:

โžค Expect this trend to stay strong for at least another 2โ€“4 years.

It has roots in emotional connection, not gimmick. Trends anchored in meaning tend to stick around longer.

โžค Itโ€™s flexible enough to evolve.

Couples can take inspiration from the 1920s, 1940s, 1950s, or even early 2000s coquette vibes. Evolution = longevity.

โžค Itโ€™s visually appealing and highly customizable.

As long as Instagram and Pinterest exist, couples will seek details that look good on cameraโ€”and few cakes deliver like these.

โžค But the novelty will eventually settle into โ€œmodern classicโ€ territory.

By the late 2020s, expect vintage cakes to shift from being the breakout trend to simply one of the beloved design styles couples choose among.

In other words: yes, the hype will mellow, but the look itself is timeless enough to remain relevant.

How Couples Can Make the Trend Feel Fresh and Personal

One of the biggest misconceptions about vintage wedding cakes is that they all look the same. In reality, theyโ€™re highly customizableโ€”and the best bakers know how to reinterpret the trend in a way that feels intentionally yours.

Here are some ways couples can elevate the look:

1. Choose a Specific Era as Inspiration

A 1920s Art Deco cake feels entirely different from a 1950s pastel piped design. Narrowing the vision creates cohesion.

2. Match (or Contrast) Your Wedding Palette

Pastel piping looks incredible with lush, bold floral palettes. Soft neutrals look stunning in black-tie settings.

3. Add Modern Twists

Metallic accents, monochrome/unique color palettes, unexpected tiers, or abstract sugar florals can create a fresh spin.

4. Incorporate Personal Details

Replicating a family recipe, echoing a grandmotherโ€™s wedding cake, or including a motif from your stationery suite can make the design feel meaningful instead of trendy.

5. Let It Be a Centerpiece

A cake this beautiful shouldnโ€™t hide in a corner. Place it proudlyโ€”near florals, a custom linen, or candlelightโ€”and let it shine.

Final Thoughts: Why This Trend Deserves Its Moment

Vintage wedding cakes arenโ€™t just about aesthetics. Theyโ€™re about emotion, craft, and storytelling. They bring personality into a design category thatโ€™s too often treated as obligatory. They remind us of celebrations from generations past, while still feeling perfectly stylish today.

And maybe thatโ€™s why theyโ€™re resonating so strongly with couples planning weddings in 2025 and beyond. In an ever-changing landscape of trends, a little nostalgiaโ€”tastefully pipedโ€”goes a long way.

How Much Does a Wedding Planner Cost? The Math Behind our Package Pricing

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

If youโ€™ve ever tried to understand wedding planner cost in New England, you already know it can feel like decoding a secret language. Some planners list nothing, others list everything, and many use pricing structures that make it nearly impossible to compare your options. At Contagious Events, we love a little mystery in design โ€” not in pricing โ€” so weโ€™re breaking down exactly how much a wedding planner costs and the real math behind our package fees.

At Contagious Events, we love a little mystery in design โ€” not in pricing.

So letโ€™s talk openly about how much a wedding planner actually costs in New England, and more important, how we determine our pricing.

This is not an industry-average article, because the truth is, averages in the wedding industry are misleading at best, and an outright lie at worst.

This is a transparent breakdown of our real numbers, our packages, and the logic behind our fees โ€” the same way weโ€™d explain it if you were sitting across from us with a coffee.

Understanding Wedding Planner Cost: Why Pricing Feels Confusing (and why we keep it simple)

Wedding planners donโ€™t have a standardized pricing structure. In the same market, you might see:

  • Flat-fee pricing
  • Percentage-based pricing
  • Commission-based pricing
  • Tiered pricing
  • Mix-and-match custom quotes

This inconsistency creates confusion for couples, especially those in the early planning stages. When couples first begin researching wedding planner cost, they’re often surprised at how widely fees vary. Our approach is the opposite: clear, flat fees that donโ€™t change based on your spending. No surprises. No markups. No quiet commissions.

Just transparent pricing that reflects the real work involved.

Our Packages + Flat Fees:
Weโ€™ve designed our packages around the three points when couples most often realize they need professional help. Below is our current pricing, with a quick note that additional fees may apply for weddings outside our typical travel area or for large guest counts requiring expanded staffing.

Shindig – Our Full Service Wedding Planning Package is Priced at $16,500 (split into 3-4 payments)

Shindig is the โ€œstart-to-finish, answer-every-question, handle-every-detailโ€ experience. Itโ€™s also our only package that includes venue scouting and securing, which is one of the most time-intensive phases of planning.

This package averages over 400 labor hours of work and includes:

  • Venue research, touring, and contracting
  • Budget oversight and advising
  • Full design concepting
  • Vendor sourcing and coordination
  • Collaboration tools (timelines, layouts, design decks)
  • Unlimited communication (yesโ€ฆ 1,500+ emails between clients and vendors is totally normal!)
  • Ceremony rehearsal
  • Full wedding day production with a lead planner + additional planner
  • Additional staff for large or complex weddings

This is ideal for couples who want a professional team from day one: especially for events with layered design, multiple moving parts, or a three-day wedding weekend.

Hootenanny is our most popular package for a reason: itโ€™s essentially full-service planning for couples who have already chosen their venue (and maybe secured a vendor or two) but want expert design development and professional project management.

It averages 350 hours of billable time and includes:

  • Comprehensive design direction
  • Full vendor sourcing + communication
  • Timeline creation and execution
  • Access to our collaborative planning tools
  • Unlimited communication
  • Rehearsal management
  • Lead planner + additional planner on wedding day
  • Additional staff as needed for guest count or complexity

Perfect for couples who love being involved but want a partner who can pull the vision together cohesively, and keep everything moving.

Primetime – Our Version of Month of Coordination is Priced at $4,500 (split into 2 payments)

Think of this as an elevated, more robust version of month-of coordination. A wedding with dozens of vendors, hundreds of guests, and thousands of dollars invested needs more than someone showing up with a clipboard.

Primetime averages 100 hours of work and includes:

  • Vendor communication + confirmation
  • Final timeline creation
  • Venue walkthrough
  • Rehearsal management
  • Lead planner + additional planner on wedding day

This is ideal for couples who planned their wedding themselves but want professional oversight to ensure everything runs smoothly – and to avoid handing the timeline to Aunt Linda.

Why Does Wedding Planning Cost This Much?

Let’s talk about hours.

A huge part of understanding wedding planner cost is understanding the hours involved. We know the price tags may seem high at first glance. But the hours tell the real story.

A typical Shindig or Hootenanny wedding involves:

  • 1,500+ emails between us, the couple, and the vendor team
  • Dozens of phone calls and Zoom meetings
  • Site visits + walkthroughs
  • Timeline development that often includes 20+ contributors
  • Vendor sourcing + services curation + coordination
  • Design plan creation (color palettes, floor plans, mockups, rentals sourcing)
  • Packing, staffing, day-of production
  • And a wedding day that easily surpasses 25,000 steps for our team

Itโ€™s also why none of our planners are allowed to work more than one wedding per weekend. A planner who worked until midnight on Saturday should not be responsible for someone elseโ€™s once-in-a-lifetime event on Sunday.

We know you’re curious, so here’s the math: when you break our flat fees down by total hours invested, they average roughly $40โ€“$45 per hour โ€” for highly trained planners with years of experience.

The math checks out. In fact, we’re told time and time again by clients that we should charge more.

Where Your Investment Actually Goes

This is the part most couples never think about, and understandably so. But if weโ€™re talking transparency, letโ€™s put it all out there.

Running a reputable planning firm requires:

  • Liability insurance (required by many New England venues)
  • Licensed business operations + taxes to stay in legal good standing
  • Payroll for experienced planners who bring years of expertise
  • Software for timelines, layouts, design plans, collaboration, and contracts
  • Continuing education and training (industry standards evolve constantly)
  • Emergency kit supplies (everything from steamers to glue guns to stain remover)
  • Travel expenses for site visits and vendor meetings
  • Printed materials + detailed production documents
  • Administrative support + internal systems

Some people call this โ€œoverhead.โ€

We call it the infrastructure that keeps your wedding safe, insured, and flawlessly executed.

And, importantly:

A planner with proper overhead is a planner who will still be in business on your wedding day.

Flat Fee vs. Percentage-Based Pricing:

Another factor that influences wedding planner cost industry-wide is whether a planner uses a flat fee or percentage-based model. Percentage-based pricing is extremely common among luxury planners, and it makes a lot of sense.

Percentage-Based Pricing Has Legitimate Strengths:
  • It protects the planner from scope creep
  • It maintains fair compensation as complexity grows
  • It keeps budgets proportionate to total investment
  • It allows a planner to resource your wedding properly

There is nothing wrong with this model. So why don’t we use it?

For us, it comes down to one thing:

We want our couples to trust that every recommendation we make is 100% in their best interest.

With percentage-based pricing, thereโ€™s always a tiny question in the back of a clientโ€™s mind:

โ€œDo they want me to upgrade because itโ€™s betterโ€ฆ or because theyโ€™ll earn more?โ€

We never want you to wonder.

Our flat-fee model + no-commission policy keeps the relationship clean, clear, and fully aligned.

A positive side effect of the no-commission policy is a strong vendor network. There is truth to the saying your network is your net worth – because we never ask vendors for commissions, they’re often excited to work with us, offering competitive quotes and flexibility to our clients. And if something unusual arises (like needing an extra planner to manage a DJ who likes to improvise, for example…), we simply discuss options openly. Flat-fee pricing doesn’t mean inflexible – it means transparent.

A Gentle Note for Those Looking for Cheap Wedding Vendors

Not every couple needs luxury vendors, and luxury weddings don’t necessarily have to have a vendor list of only luxury vendors. We get that most couples have to be reasonable when it comes to wedding budgets. Here’s what we want you to know:

A planner charging a few hundred dollars cannot sustainably deliver 100โ€“400 hours of professional work, carry proper insurance, maintain a trained staff, invest in planning software, or show up well-rested and properly supported.

And if they become overwhelmed, burned out, or need to cancel, the risk transfers directly to you.

Your wedding is too meaningful, and too expensive, to gamble on.

Professional oversight is not just about design. Itโ€™s about protecting your investment and ensuring your day is executed with precision.

Your Investment, Protected. Your Wedding, Elevated.

We take your investment seriously. We charge enough to:

  • Pay our team what theyโ€™re worth
  • Stay insured, trained, and legally compliant
  • Maintain tools that streamline your experience
  • Show up fully present, never burned out
  • Deliver consistently exceptional, high-touch events

Most importantly:

We price our services transparently so you always understand your wedding planner cost and exactly what you receive in return. This allows us to work alongisde you in a way that allows us to be in your corner. Always.

No commissions. No markups. No hidden motives.

Just honest, transparent planning that puts you first.

If youโ€™re ready to talk through which package fits where you are in your planning process, weโ€™d love to chat.

Letโ€™s create something unforgettable, and do it the right way, with intention.

Stamps for Wedding Invitations: The Design Detail You Didnโ€™t Know You Needed

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

When planning a wedding, itโ€™s easy to get caught up in the big pieces: the venue, the flowers, the food, the outfits. But hereโ€™s the thing: your invitations are the very first glimpse your guests get of the celebration to come. And the tiniest detail, right down to the stamp, can transform โ€œjust another envelopeโ€ into something that feels intentional, thoughtful, and yes… a little luxurious.

Recently, USPS released a Boston-themed forever stamp thatโ€™s as chic as it is practical. Itโ€™s proof that you donโ€™t have to custom-order every single element of your wedding stationery to make an impact. Sometimes the perfect detail is waiting at your local post office.

Why Stamps Matter for Wedding Invitations

Think of stamps as the jewelry of your wedding stationery: small but capable of elevating the entire look. A stamp is the last touch before your invitations head out into the world. It plays a bigger role than you might expect:

  • It sets the tone before your guests even open the envelope.
  • It ties into your overall aesthetic: whether thatโ€™s modern, romantic, or vintage-inspired.
  • Itโ€™s functional and beautiful (especially if you plan to save a set of invitations as keepsakes).

And because forever stamps lock in postage rates, they also save you from last-minute price changes. They are a quiet gift to your future self.

The Boston Forever Stamp: A Stylish Option for Couples

Letโ€™s talk about that new Boston-themed forever stamp. Itโ€™s a little piece of city pride wrapped in good design: architectural details and elegant lines. The color palette complements everything from minimalist invitations to lush, floral-heavy stationery.

For couples getting married in New England, this stamp feels like a subtle nod to place and story. Itโ€™s not screaming Boston sports fandom; itโ€™s refined, classic, and versatile. It works beautifully on its own but also pairs well if youโ€™re creating a collage effect with multiple smaller-value stamps.

Other types of stamps for wedding invitations

Of course, the Boston forever stamp isnโ€™t the only option out there. Here are a few other favorites for couples who want their postage to make a statement:

  • Floral & Romantic: USPSโ€™s botanical series is always a winner for weddings, offering everything from wildflowers to roses.
  • Vintage Stamps: Curated sets add character and a sense of nostalgia. Think bold colors, retro illustrations, or even themed collections (travel, music, art).
  • Seasonal & Thematic: Planning a winter wedding? Holiday or snow-themed stamps can be charming. Hosting a garden party in spring? A floral set ties everything together.
  • Custom Details: While USPS no longer makes personalized photo stamps, you can still add a bespoke touch with coordinating envelope liners, wax seals, or stickers.
Our top tips for choosing the right stamps for wedding invitations:

Before you run out and buy 200 Boston stamps, a few practical notes for your consideration:

  • Weigh Your Invitations: Heavier or oversized envelopes may need more than a single forever stamp. Square envelopes also require additional postage.
  • Order Extras: Between keepsakes, last-minute guest list additions, and the occasional envelope mishap, youโ€™ll be glad you did.
  • If you’re going for the vintage aesthetic, remember that postage is basically the USPS’s form of currency. The value of the postage is what matters. Instead of using a modern forever stamp which costs 78 cents at the time of this post’s publication, you can affix numerous vintage stamps with a monetary amount printed on them. However, ensure the printed value of all the stamps adds up to 78 cents (or whatever the cost of postage is at the time you do your mailing). There are many vintage stamps available online in various denominations. This gives you freedom to search based on color, theme, etc.
  • Don’t get scammed! In 2023, the USPS launched an anti-counterfeit stamp initiative, and directed staff to destroy mail and packages that use counterfeit postage. If you’re seeing Forever stamps offered at a discount from an online seller, the stamps are probably fake.

All in all, remember that the stamps for wedding invitations are a part of the overall design and shouldn’t be overlooked. Whether you choose something modern, romantic, vintage, or Boston-specific, the right stamps for wedding invitations will make your mail feel as special as your celebration.

Big News from Minted: Wedding Invitations Just Got a Little More Luxe with the New Minted Wedding Invitations No Logo Policy

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

If youโ€™ve ever ordered wedding invitations from Minted (affiliate link), you probably noticed a tiny detail that never quite matched the luxury feel of your event: the Minted logo printed on the back of every invite and envelope. However, the new minted wedding invitations no logo policy changes that.

Well, thatโ€™s changing. ๐ŸŽ‰

Minted just announced that theyโ€™re removing their logo from all wedding stationery and envelopes – a move that feels small, but makes a big impact for couples who care about presentation and design (and letโ€™s be real, thatโ€™s basically all of us planning a wedding).

Why This Matters

Your wedding stationery sets the tone for the entire celebration. Itโ€™s the very first impression guests have of your day, and it deserves to be all about you: not a brand logo. By removing their mark, Minted is elevating their product to feel even more bespoke, more premium, and more intentional. This shift to remove the minted logo from wedding invitations highlights their commitment to customers.

Think about it: a clean back, uninterrupted by text or logos, makes the design feel custom-made. It lets the focus stay on the artistry of your chosen suite and the story you want to tell, not on who printed it. For couples investing in thoughtful details, this is one less distractionโ€”and one more way your wedding feels uniquely yours.

A Win for Couples and Planners

As planners, we know how much these little things matter. From the paper weight to the ink finish, every decision contributes to the overall guest experience. This update from Minted shows theyโ€™re listening to couples and professionals alike who want elevated design without compromise. With minted wedding invitations no logo, couples can enjoy exquisite design unmarred by branding.

And if youโ€™re working with a planner (hi ๐Ÿ‘‹), we also get access to exclusive discounts through Mintedโ€™s partner program: yes, that means luxe details and a little budget-friendly magic. (If youโ€™re one of my clients, ask me about it – if you’re not a client, what are you waiting for?! Let’s play a game of mad-libs!)

The Takeaway

Removing a logo might seem minor, but in the world of weddings, itโ€™s the details that make the difference. This change from Minted is a step toward creating invitations that feel less โ€œoff-the-shelfโ€ and more like a personal work of art. The choice for minted wedding invitations no logo is undoubtedly a win for personalization.

Your love story doesnโ€™t need a brand stamp, it deserves center stage – and we’re super excited to see Minted align with this!

How to Effortlessly Collect Wedding Guest Photos with a QR Code

Real talk: reaching out to guests to send you the photos they took is no way to spend your first day of marriage. If youโ€™re the kind of couple whoโ€™s ditching the cookie-cutter traditions and planning a wedding that actually feels like you, then you already know the vibe you want. And when it comes to capturing the chaos, the candid moments, and the stuff your photographer might miss? Thatโ€™s where a killer guest photo collection plan comes in.

But chasing people down for photos after the fact? Or asking them to email you a Dropbox link? Hard pass.

Why Wedding Guest Photos Actually Matter

Youโ€™ve probably got a professional photographer lined up. Heck, maybe even a videographer too. But hereโ€™s the truth: theyโ€™re not catching everything. Not the behind-the-scenes laughter in the bathroom mirror, not your friendsโ€™ first sip of those signature cocktails, and definitely not the blurry-but-hilarious dance floor selfies. Truth is, some poeple are more comfrotable having their photo taken by a friend than a pro photographer with what might feel like intimidating equipment.

Your guests are living your wedding day right alongside you. Theyโ€™re capturing moments youโ€™ll never see unless youโ€™ve got a way to get your hands on them.

  • Those wild, late-night dance moves
  • The sweet candid hugs your grandma dishes out
  • The behind-the-scenes chaos before the ceremony starts

And honestly? Those are the photos that bring your wedding story to life โ€” the raw, unfiltered stuff that makes the day unforgettable.

Why the โ€œOld Schoolโ€ Photo Collection Methods Kinda Suck

Letโ€™s talk about the usual suspects:

  • Instagram Hashtags:ย Cute idea in theory, but only if your guests actually use it โ€” and are invincible to typos. (Spoiler: They aren’t.)
  • Shared Albums:ย Greatโ€ฆ if everyone has the same phone brand and knows how to use shared albums. (Good luck with that.)
  • Group Texts or Chats:ย A nightmare of blurry photos, bad compression, and that one guy who wonโ€™t stop replying with โ€œlol.โ€

Bottom line? Theyโ€™re clunky, outdated, and way too much work for you.

You deserve something smarter. And way less annoying.

Enter the Game-Changer: QR Code Photo Sharing

Imagine this: your guests scan a code: right there on the table, bar, or even tattooed on your buddy Daveโ€™s forehead (kiddingโ€ฆ but, we do have a temporary tattoo vending machine that is a kickass addition to your wedding dรฉcor) โ€” and bam, they can instantly upload their photos straight to your shared album.

Thatโ€™s exactly what you get withย GuestPixย โ€” a super simple, no-fuss way to collect all those killer guest photos in one spot.

Hereโ€™s how it works:

  1. You create your GuestPix accountย โ€” takes about two minutes (and zero tech skills).
  2. You generate your unique QR codeย โ€” totally customizable with your names, wedding date, and vibes.
  3. You print or display the code wherever you wantย โ€” signage, table tents, the bar, napkins, whatever suits your style.
  4. Guests scan + upload in secondsย โ€” literally. Itโ€™s that easy.

Why GuestPix is the Smartest Move Youโ€™ll Make

  • No App or Login Required:ย Your guests donโ€™t have to download a thing โ€” it works straight from their phoneโ€™s browser, which means GuestPix works on virtually any device that connects to the internet.
  • Unlimited Uploads:ย Whether itโ€™s one photo or fifty, they can share it all.
  • Private & Secure:ย Your gallery stays under your control โ€” not floating around on some hashtag for randos to see.
  • Instant Access:ย Youโ€™ll see photos rolling in before the nightโ€™s even over.

GuestPix takes the awkwardness, hassle, and tech headaches out of the equation โ€” so you can actually enjoy your day while your guests do the rest.

Ready to ditch the outdated methods and make photo sharing stupid-easy?ย Try GuestPix hereย and thank us later.

Father of the groom embraces his son during an emotional wedding moment, surrounded by guests outdoors under string lights.

What Does the Father of the Groom Do?

We only recommend products we genuinely like, trust, or believe could add ease, style, or a little extra joy to the wedding planning process.

Your sonโ€™s getting marriedโ€”and you couldnโ€™t be prouder, but now you find yourself asking, what does the father of the groom do? Understanding responsibilities as the father of the groom is essential. As the father of the groom, your role may not be front and center. Thereโ€™s no โ€œfather of the groom danceโ€ trending on TikTok just yet. However, you do have a meaningful part to play in the planning process and on the big day.

Whether youโ€™re itching to dive into to-do lists or just trying not to step on any toes, this guide will help. It will walk you through the traditional and modern-day responsibilities of the father of the groom. You’ll also find a few thoughtful ways to show up with style. These responsibilities involve both supporting your son and being present during important moments.

1. Suit Up

One of the best bonding moments for you and your son? A suit shopping trip. Among the father of the groom responsibilities, making sure your son looks sharp is one. Whether youโ€™re outfitting the entire wedding party or just looking for a killer fit for yourself, your presence is appreciatedโ€”and your experience probably is too.

You can assist with:

  • Shopping for suits or tuxedos: we love a good in-person fitting at The Black Tux (conveniently located in many Nordstrom stores)
  • Helping coordinate pick-ups and returns if rentals are involved.
  • Coordinating with other parents so your looks complement each other in photos.

Bonus tip: While Azazie, Dessy, and Revelry are known for bridesmaids dresses, they also offer affordable suiting. It’s perfect for weddings with coordinated colors across the aisle.

For elevated, purchase-worthy options, we recommend Bonobos and SuitSupply – stylish, well-made, and wedding appropriate.

2. Host (or Help Host) the Rehearsal Dinner

Traditionally, the groomโ€™s side hosts the rehearsal dinner. That responsibility often falls to you. Hosting responsibilities include welcoming guests, arranging seating, and ensuring a memorable evening. This event is more relaxed than the wedding itself, but still important. It brings together both families, gives the wedding party a chance to connect, and sets the tone for the big day.

Whether you:

  • Cover the full cost
  • Split it with your co-parents
  • Simply help plan or emcee the evening

โ€ฆyour involvement will be noticed and appreciated, demonstrating key responsibilities as the father of the groom.

3. Support The Groom’s Mother

Walking the groomโ€™s mother down the aisle is a classic and touching gesture. This is especially true if youโ€™re divorced or remarried and want to make sure everyone feels respected and included. This action is among the responsibilities of the father of the groom. It shows your grace and respect. Itโ€™s a great way to:

  • Show unity
  • Ease nerves
  • Start the ceremony off on a meaningful note

4. Raise a Glass

If youโ€™re comfortable with public speaking, offering a short and heartfelt toast during the rehearsal dinner or reception is one of the most impactful ways to contribute. Keep it genuine, personal, and under three minutes. Speaking duties are among the important father of the groom responsibilities during the event.

Not sure what to say? A little humor, a dash of wisdom, and a sincere welcome to your new daughter-in-law (or child-in-law) goes a long way. You could even consider using a tool like Provenance to help with some inspiration.

5. Dance Like You Mean It

Youโ€™re not expected to open the dance floor, but if thereโ€™s a moment to dance with the groomโ€™s mother or your new in-law, take it! These small gestures help make the couple feel supported and welcomed.

Pro tip: If thereโ€™s no formal father-of-the-groom dance planned, you can still take a twirl with your sonโ€™s new spouse. Itโ€™s a great way to symbolically welcome them into the family. Acting as host on the dance floor can be one of the joyful father of the groom responsibilities.

Bonus: Be the Calm in the Chaos

Weddings can get hectic. One of the best things you can offer is emotional steadiness. Whether itโ€™s running a last-minute errand, offering a word of reassurance, or simply being present, your quiet support might be exactly whatโ€™s needed, wherein lies some key responsibilities as the father of the groom.

Final Thoughts

The truth is, thereโ€™s no one-size-fits-all job description for the father of the groom. Your role can be as involved or low-key as fits your family dynamic. However, showing up with intention and heart never goes unnoticed.

Need help figuring out how to divide responsibilities or plan a seamless rehearsal dinner? Weโ€™ve got you. Contact Contagious Events to talk about how we can help take the pressure off and make the experience unforgettableโ€”for everyone involved.

Prime Day Wedding Deals You’ll Actually Use (From a Planner Who’s Seen It All)

ContagiousWedding Planning Leave a Comment

Quick note: I use affiliate links in this post. If you click one of these prime day wedding deals and make a purchase, I may get a commission. This helps keep this blog alive and your planner fueled by iced coffee.

I still remember the first Amazon Prime Day back in 2015. When the sale launched, I think many felt let down. There was a lot of stuff: it seemed like Amazon’s attempt to clear out their warehouses of junk that wasn’t selling. NBC News compared it to a garage sale, and frankly… that’s not a bad description of how I remember it.

Now in 2025, we’re at the 10th anniversary of Prime Day, and things have gotten better. However, there’s still a lot of stuff to sort through. I thought it would be helpful to list out some items that you should consider. These are items that we keep stocked, either in our emergency kits or at the office. So, if you’re a Contagious Events client, you can definitely save a little cash and skip out on most of these. If you don’t have a planner, it’s a good idea to consider stocking up. Then designate a person to be in charge of packing and making sure the kit is accessible on the wedding day. Also, ensure your key people (family, wedding party, etc.) know who has access to the kit in case anyone needs something.

This list is long – so we’ve broken it up into different categories:

STATIONERY HACKS

Invisible Ink Pens: Virtually every time we collect save the dates for our clients, there is at least one guest who jots down a meal selection and writes in dietary restrictions. However, they forget to write their name – not on the card, and not as a return address on the envelope. An easy solution: number your guest list so that every household has a unique number. Write that number on the back of that household’s RSVP card with these invisible ink pens.

Glue Sticks: Save your tongue… use a glue stick to seal your envelopes. Trust me. I like the disappearing purple ones because with these repetitive tasks, sometimes it’s easy to lose track. The purple tells you whether or not you’ve applied the glue!

Double-Sided Tape: Secure envelope liners, or attach embellishments. Sometimes those sticker wax seals aren’t very sticky and need a little extra love – Double-Sided Tape will take care of that.

PREVENTING MELTDOWNS

Clear Umbrellas: Yes, your photographer (or your wedding planner) probably has one of these, but often they only have one. These are not a common rental item. So, if you are planning larger group family photos and want to do them outdoors rain or shine, consider grabbing a few extra clear umbrellas. These will supplement the one your vendor team might have.

Power Bank: Two things are true about your phone on wedding day: you will run out of battery, and you will likely have no idea where it is about 70% of the day. This is the one we keep on-hand at the studio, and it’s a beast. It will recharge your phone multiple times, but the best part is it will also tell you how much “juice” it has left. This way, you can plan accordingly. This can also charge up to three devices at once – with 2 USB-C ports and 1 older USB port. Also, if you are getting ready with a group of people, consider keeping a USB Charging Station like this one in the room, so your wedding peeps can charge their devices without draining a power bank.

Portable Fan: Transparency time: I don’t actually have one yet, but I saw an influencer video reviewing this fan and it convinced me we needed them in our kits. Honestly, this makes sense if you are getting married during warmer weather months.

Crest White Strips: Vanity aside, many of our clients have told us their dentist has suggested White Strips vs. professional whitening – conveniently, they’re part of the Prime Day sale!

Apple AirTags: If I had a nickel for every time I asked my team where is… I would be retired on an island somewhere. Apple AirTags are a great idea to put in your important bag, but an extra special pro tip I have for you is to give an AirTag to a guest that is taking the guest shuttle (if you are having one). Doing this will allow you (or your planner) the ability to track the shuttle’s movement and more accurately anticipate an arrival time.

GUEST BOOK OPTIONS

Traditional Option: Not a Prime Day deal, but this is our favorite vendor and we’ve been recommending them for years. You can score one on Amazon, but they also offer personalization options directly on their website if you prefer.

Selfie Guest Book: Everyone loves a good selfie – the instant cameras are great fun for the right crowd. Just remember to get extra film and batteries!

Photobooth Guest Book: If you’re planning to have a more formal photobooth that prints the 2×6 photo strips, consider placing a guest book on the prop table. This is for guests to leave their photos and a note!

EMERGENCY KIT ESSENTIALS

Stain Remover: self explanatory, someone is going to want this at some point in the day.

Clear Lash Glue: put a dab on a necklace to keep it in place and facing the right way.

Mini Sewing Kit: one of the more popular items in our kit. Make sure you pack extra safety pins.

Tagging Gun: will fix a bustle in a pinch, if needed – but can also quickly hem pants, too!

Blister Cushions: Sometimes, beauty is pain.

Anti Static Spray: This was added to our kits after a couple of years of it being a commonly requested item. Now that we have it, we don’t get asked for it as much because that’s just Murphy’s Law in action.

First Aid Kit: Hopefully you won’t need it, but we do recommend these Instant Ice Packs. If not for an injury, it may help keep someone stay cool on a hot wedding day.
