If you’ve had a wedding with me, you’ve probably been witness to the deep sigh of relief that comes out of me once the processional is complete. Wedding ceremonies have such a formality to them that they very easily become these intimidating wedding monsters that make us want to crawl under the bridal train and hide.
But here’s the thing: they don’t have to be stressful. Depending on where you marry, there are some legal requirements that need to happen in order for the marriage to be official, but beyond that, everything is extra.
So if formal isn’t your jam, build in some casual elements to your ceremony. Take time to hug your partner once you make it down the aisle. Hug your parents, wave to your guests… it’s your day – do what you want! We’ve even hosted cocktail hours BEFORE the ceremony; an unexpected twist on the wedding day timeline that guests usually love (and this also saves anyone who is notoriously late for things).
