I can’t wait to take you on a virtual tour of one of my new favorite Massachusetts wedding venues, Willowdale Estate. This historic venue stands on historic grounds with new renovations that highlight the beautiful space. The craftsman, Scottish, and, rustic-inspired mansion is available to host both indoor and outdoor weddings, making it suitable for many different wedding styles. There is so much more about this venue to cover, so keep reading! I’m sharing all of the details in this virtual Massachusetts wedding venue tour of Willowdale Estate on this blog.
Overview
Let’s go over the basics first. Willowdale Estate is located only 30 miles away from Boston, making this an ideal venue for both local and destination couples. Since the estate sits along over 720 acres of woodlands, it feels extremely private. In fact, the venue is located right in the middle of a State Park. The venue’s wedding seasons are divided into what they refer to as “tent” and “mansion” seasons. Depending on the season you select, they can host up to 240 guests. Weekend venue rental fees begin at $4,000 (excluding ceremony, catering, and bar fees). One of the many perks about booking this venue is that they also offer catering and an onsite bar. This makes checking these other vendors off of your planning list so easy. Willowdale also offers select rentals such as ceremony and reception seating along with farm tables – how convenient!

A Look at Willowdale Weddings
Now, I wanted to show you how a wedding a Willowdale can look! Last year, I worked with a talented team of vendors to bring a styled wedding shoot to life at the venue. You can take a look at the Colorful Wildflower Wedding at Willowdale Estate after reading this blog! As a spoiler, the vision for the styled shoot was bright, colorful, and gay – we created exactly that.
In the meantime, let’s go over what a typical wedding looks like at the venue. The good news, no matter your style, the venue transforms for each aesthetic effortlessly. Of course, you need to love a nature-surrounded space. However, with onsite locations like a glass conservatory and chic tented receptions, it still feels luxurious. Most ceremonies at Willowdale are held outdoors with the Mansion serving as a breathtaking backdrop. The venue’s ceremony garden chairs provide wonderful seating options.
For receptions, many couples choose the “tent” season. This season occurs from May through October. The outdoor tent reception allows more room for a larger guest count and allows you to celebrate among the outdoor grounds onsite. Having the tent available in the case of rain for an outdoor ceremony is also a plus. Don’t worry, the “mansion” season is just as beautiful! As a planner, I really appreciate the various options for each couple.
