Lyman Estate Wedding
The Ceremony
For their ceremony, Abbey and Kevin chose to exchange vows in front of a grand tree set in the back of the Lyman Estate property. The stately white baby grand piano was an elegant (and unexpected) feature for the outdoor ceremony. The pianist played as guests were seated, and then segued into songs handpicked by Abbey and Kevin for the bridal processional. Of course, we can't recap the ceremony without acknowledging the incredible ceremony flowers - the arrangements were designed by Flou(-e)r and featured grand statement arrangements set atop varied height columns. The flowers designated the altar space for Abbey and Kevin's wedding vows and set the tone for guests that they were going to be treated to an evening of elegance.
The wedding Tea Ceremony
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while Abbey and Kevin participated in a traditional tea ceremony, an important Chinese tradition that symbolizes unity between two families. We chose to designate the oval room for the ceremony: a centrally-located room within the house that could accommodate those involved in the ceremony, and still allow other guests who were enjoying hors d'oeuvres from other areas of the house. The ceremony was such a special moment and having it in a place where guests could witness without necessarily participating was a great way to honor this important tradition.
The Tented Reception
For the reception, guests were treated to dinner and dancing under a beautiful tent on the grounds of the Lyman Estate. The space was decorated with elegant round and rectangular tables topped with delicate florals, and romantic candlelight throughout the tent. The décor made for an absolutely magical evening. After dinner, guests danced the night away to music by DJ Petro, who kept the dance floor packed all night long - seriously, we even had guests dancing and eating cake on the dance floor because they just couldn't get enough!
