Marie + Nic
Vermont Farm Wedding
Riverside Farm, Vermont
So basically, what we're going for is a Gatsby-style, epic garden party in a Vermont barn.
This was the design inspiration I pulled from my conversations with Marie and Nic as we started identifying the overall aesthetic of their day. They agreed, and the challenge was accepted.
The ceremony featured soft seating: vintage couches, loveseats and chairs in bright colors. Bright, because the ceremony featured a butterfly release and we wanted the bright colors to attract the butterflies so they would mingle with guests once they were set free (spoiler: they did!)
The reception tablescape featured wooden chargers with 24 karat gold details, glass vessels handcrafted by a local artisan, ornate water goblets and champagne coupes from the tower that greeted guests upon arrival at the reception.
Oh, there were flowers too. Just a few.
Marie and Nic brought such an amazing energy to the planning process: they knew what they wanted, but they also were open to considering new ideas and designs, and offered just enough guidance to encourage creativity, but still make it their own. They also were not intimidated or bound by age old tradition - often times, I find myself telling couples that it's okay to bend the rules a little. With Marie and Nic, they already had that confidence and knew that this was going to be their day; and I loved that about working with them.
